Lift Kit Styles: Spindle vs Double A-Arm vs Drop Axle
Choosing the right lift kit depends on your cart make, trail terrain, and budget:
- Spindle Lift Kits (3″ to 6″):
- Best For: Paved roads, neighborhood cruising, and light budget trail riding.
- How it works: Replaces the stock front spindles with extended cast or fabricated steel spindles. Preserves OEM front suspension arms.
- Pros: Easy 2-hour bolt-on installation, affordable, widens the front wheel stance for stability.
- Double A-Arm / Long Travel Lift Kits (4″ to 6″):
- Best For: Hunting, farm property, rocky paths, and maximum ride comfort.
- How it works: Replaces the entire front suspension subframe with independent dual A-arms and heavy-duty coil-over shocks.
- Pros: Unmatched suspension dampening, adjustable camber/toe, true automotive off-road capability.
- Drop Axle Lift Kits (3″ to 5″):
- Best For: Older EZGO TXT and Marathon carts with straight front axle beams.
- How it works: Replaces the stock straight axle with a dropped U-beam design.

Understanding Golf Cart Wheel Offsets
Standard factory golf cart wheels feature a centered 4:4 offset (or 0 offset).
Lifted golf carts with 22″ or 23″ tires require offset aftermarket wheels (typically 3:4 or 2:5 offset):
- 3:4 Offset: The wheel mounting surface is shifted inward, pushing the tire outward by 1 inch for clearance against rear shock towers and front tie-rod ball joints.
- 2:5 Offset (Deep Dish): Pushes tires outward by 2 inches, yielding an aggressive wide-track stance for high-speed rollover resistance.
