Where to Find the EZGO Serial Number and Code
EZGO golf carts have two distinct plates or decals: the Serial Number and the Manufacturer Code (Mfg Date Code).
Serial Plate Locations:
- EZGO RXV (2008–Present): Located on the steering column base, under the front dash trim, or inside the battery compartment near the AC controller.
- EZGO TXT (1996–Present): Located inside the passenger side glove compartment (dash) or under the seat on the metal cross-member frame.
- EZGO Medalist (1994–1995): Located inside the passenger glove box on a metal riveted plate.
- EZGO Marathon (1975–1993): Stamped on the frame beneath the driver's side seat or on the passenger side dash panel.
Decoding the EZGO Manufacturer Code
Unlike other brands where the serial number contains the year, EZGO uses the Manufacturer Code (sometimes labelled Date Code).
Example Code: F1504
- First Letter (F): The month of production (A = January, B = February, F = June, etc.).
- Middle Digits (15): The day of the month (15th).
- Last Two Digits (04): The year of manufacture — 2004.
If your cart has a 6-digit code like
94C12:- First Two Digits (94): The year of manufacture — 1994.
- Letter (C): The month (March).
- Last Digits (12): The day.

EZGO Drivetrains: Series vs PDS vs RXV AC Drive
Knowing your drive type is critical when buying controllers, solenoids, or motors:
- Series (TXT Non-Regen): Mechanical forward/reverse handle on the seat frame near your legs. High torque, simple electrical system.
- PDS (Precision Drive System, 2000–2010): Rocker toggle switch for F-N-R on the dashboard. Shunt-wound motor with regenerative electronic motor braking.
- RXV AC System (2008+): Uses an advanced 48V brushless AC motor and automated motor brake with no mechanical handbrake lever.
